Biological Activity for AP 20187

AP 20187 is a chemical inducer of dimerization (CID) for use in FKBP fusion protein systems. Induces apoptosis in cells expressing fusion proteins consisting of FKBP^F36V and the intracellular domain of the Fas receptor, Fas-associated death domain (FADD) or a caspase. Selective for FKBP^F36V-Fas fusion proteins over wild-type FKBP. Induces apoptosis of senescent cells expressing caspase-8-FKBP fusion proteins under the control of an Ink4a promoter. Active in vivo.
